Unified Carrier Registration (UCR)

The UCR Act, established in 2005, requires motor carriers involved in interstate commerce, and other businesses subject to The Act, to submit annual fees based on fleet size to supplement funding for state highway motor carrier registration and safety programs.

MCS 90 Form

MCS-90 Endorsement Coverage is proof from the motor carrier’s insurance provider that when an accident does happen, restitution will be paid no matter what.

Quebec Operating Authorities

The Act respecting owners, operators and drivers of heavy vehicles has the purpose of increasing the safety of road users on roads open to public vehicular traffic and preserving the integrity of those roads.

Ontario Operating Authorities

Commercial vehicle operators in Ontario must have a valid Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) certificate and carry a copy. The CVOR system monitors commercial carrier safety to improve road safety for all road users.

MC Operating Authorities

In general, companies that transport passengers and commodities are required to have interstate operating authority (MC number) in addition to a DOT number.

Standard Carriers Alpha Code (SCAC)

The Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC) is a privately controlled US code used to identify road transport companies. It is typically two to four letters long.

Free and Secure Trade (FAST)

The Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program is a commercial clearance program designed to ensure safety and security while expediting legitimate trade across the Canada-United States (U.S.) border.
